Looking beyond what is seen to promote optimal healing

Where physical therapy and wellness collide

Physical therapy is traditionally known to help guide people through their recovery from injuries and ailments using physical means such as exercise, hands on treatment, and other conservative efforts.

At Whole PT, ALL of a person matters, and knowledge is power. Questions that impact a person's healing include:

  • How are you sleeping?

  • How are you fueling your body?

  • What are your stress levels?

  • and SO MUCH more!

We must look at how the body systems are working together for best results.

What can be treated:

Orthopedic injuries: What a wide range this can be! From head (aches) to toe, about any musculoskeletal condition can be assessed and treated such as: sports injuries, painful joints, post-operative care, muscle tension, neck and back pain, and much more.

Chronic pain: That pesky back problem you've had off and on for years. Yes, this can be helped and treated. You do not have to "just live with it". Pain is an interesting phenomenon that recent research has gained some insight on. Our nervous system is primarily responsible for such, and with the right education and tools, you can better treat and manage the pain you've had for as long as you remember.

Pelvic Floor Therapy: Dr. Caroline Brawner can treat most common pelvic floor related problems such as incontinence, pelvic pain, overactive bladder, and women seeking pre AND post-partum pregnancy care for best outcomes.

What might an initial session look like?

Learning about how your problem has started and evolved is essential for putting the puzzle pieces together. You and your PT will work together on determining realistic goals for PT.

Those questions mentioned earlier will start to come into play; how is your overall health and how might that impact your healing processes?

Further testing of your strength, mobility, movement patterns, and other relevant hands on testing will provide evidence for determining what the best treatment path will be.
